They all kinda blur together for me at this point tbh. Currently playing Moon (left my file too long so I deleted it and started again) and once I'm done with that, I'm moving on to Sword which I bought the other day.

Tbh I was never big into gen 5. I'm knowledgeable about gens 1-4, and 7 cause Sun and Moon were fun games with good Pokemon. But the ugly sprites and the Pokemon themselves turned me off of the gen 5 games.
I hate that most the Pokémon seem to be reskins is of first gen. The starters fucking suck too. Samurott and Serperior are just awful. Emboar might have been okay if Blaziken and Infernape weren’t so much better.
Did we really need some of these Pokémon redone when they all could have just been in the game?
worst offenders for me:
Zebstrika - obvious Ponyta reskin
Gigalith - why did we need Golem to look different? Why not just include him instead?
Swoobat - someone actually okayed a new Zubat family
Audino - weak Chansey do over
Conkeldurr - admittedly I like him better than Machamp but why not just include Machamp and do the trade evolution with any other type double evo?
Seismitoad - really lame and no better than the Poliwrath or Politoed it’s copycatting oh and it’s shit compared to
swampert too
Sawk/Throh - absolutely abhorrent Hitmonripoffs
Vanilluxe - ice cream?...
Klingklang - 2 gear 3 gear... 4 gears.
Beheeyem - does anyone even remember this retarded thing exists?
A fuckton of lame legendaries...
The legendaries of the gen were super cancerous to online play also. Every fucking team had a Thundurus or Landorus. The horse dog whatever-ion legendary dog redos did nothing for me either. Admittedly the second half of the Pokédex before the legendaries is pretty alright but by the time you get to the cooler pokes you’ve trudged halfway through the game.

Gen 5 gave me Klink so I'm happy. That said, every gen had a bunch of lame/nonsensical trash I didn't like, and gen 1 gave us Charizard who should be cooler if only he didn't look like an obese dragon that skipped arm day.
Also I have a sweet spot for retarded shit like Trubbish/Garbodor.
Gen 5 had the worst Pokémon designs but everything else about the gen was great. The mechanical updates, the world design, the music, N, etc etc. Gen 6 by contrast had amazing Pokémon design (the Kalos starters were sooo cool) but everything else about X/Y sucked. The Gen 3 remakes were great though.
Wasn't much of a fan of the gen 6 starters. Froakie is aight, the other two sucked balls aesthetically imo. Gen 5 starters only had 1 I liked too, Tepig. Emboar is brolic af.
Edit: I like all the starters from gen 1 to 4 though, no weak links imo.
Nice morning considering it's monday. I have substantial amounts of work to do but I don't mind. It's also one of those days where I'd love a beer at like 8am already. But some of those days I go through 10 hours of work and then lose the appetite. Listening to some death metals. I will continue doing so in the lab I think. It's death metal monday or something.

although i have to say that the movie Detective Picachu was actually awesome
love the way the end managed to actually do that whole "2 characters are really just 1 person trope" from the old-school detective novels
which is really hard to do in a movie, but this movie managed to pull it off
the talking picachu has Ryan Reynolds' voice and the last 2 seconds you see Reynolds playing an actual human character
Detective Pikachu was a really good film. I loved how they were able to transition the monsters into a "life-like" perspective. Mr.Mime was my favorite, that smug fucker.
