Damn 12 volt batteries have gone up in the last 5 months. No idea if all the batteries came from China and local supplies have been kicked in the arse or what it is but the battery I bought for the fridge in the ute back in November has jumped from $120 to $225 and most other car batteries have seen similar mark ups.
Thats pretty weird, I do wonder if its imports from China or something. Haven't really bothered with batteries outside of the AA or AAA variety, but even those I feel like have gone up over the years.
As power for the house and back into the grid, no, its way to pricey. But I use it for 12volt and 5 volt around the house and charging the batteries in the ute.
Thinkin I might find a different job here not too long. Not that I hate the work, moreso power tripping foremen and people in the higher ups. It's a good job, but the morale is low for this shit now.
Major storm hit through southern Tennessee on Sunday. We've been doing storm work since then, and its mostly going to go all through the week. Storm and tornados hit through some pretty major areas. I was out of power for 2 days but its back on now. I'm expecting to get paid a good bit this week though.
Storm season is the worst time to be involved in any aspect of tree felling. Kudos to you and the other guys who go out in such shitty weather and clean up for other people!
Oh no this is a state of disaster. Tennessee has 3 other tree companies helping us and the power board out. This isnt a matter of personal property work; this is state work. Trees fallen on electrical lines, destroying poles, some real disaster shit
Yeah I couldn't do that shit any more. I've pulled trees from houses, I've stopped them falling on houses in the first place, I've done clean up work. But I'm not into working in such shitty conditions any more unless I can't avoid it.
