You're being weirdly indignant. Nobody said that using either way of speaking made someone better, but you keep specifically responding as if that's being stated and ignoring research that was done by people of credibility.

You are generalizing too much to speak of "British English" as a whole, since some varieties of British English are definitely more old-fashioned than pretty much anything you'll find in North America.

I would agree that you are right, but the context of the conversation makes it 100% clear that we're referring to the most typical modern American and British English as has been explicitly mentioned more than once during this conversation. I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by ignoring that and stating something that nobody denied.

I don't know what typical British English sounds like.

Received Pronunciation gets taught to people learning English but very few people in the British Isle actually use it. It's basically just news readers and such.

I'm from New York where people have much stranger doctors than chiropractors. A few close friends of mine have even an acupuncturist. Haven't tried either but heard really amazing things about both.


Also, I'm really drunk and trying to keep awake while on the train. I actually just told a really close friend of mine (she's bisexual) no I can't stay at her house because I have intuitions that are almost always right (seriously) and she just broke up with her dude and she was raging really hard tonight. Blah, I feel shitty I have a soft spot for women.
