I have had beef jerky once and it was delicious. I'm pretty sure some specialized shops import it here, but I'm too lazy to search for it and mainly, this US-ish stuff is always expensive just because NFL players eat it.

Cronopio is off the mark here. We do indeed have beef jerky, like smoked deer-and moose meat. But Cronopio is also a city slicker from Stockholm, and they only eat sushi.

The beef jerky we have might be similar to the American kind, but it's not EXACTLY the same thing. I want the real deal, that's why I only watch porn where the chicks have implants.

Now, I bet their beef jerky is actually worse than our. The difference is probably that their beef jerky - being American - is tastelessly soaked in spices that shouldn't be there. I tell you, this natural stuff, straight from Vegard Pompey's little sami dad

I would argue that the one style of food America is particularly VERY good at is beef jerky. Of course you can't trust that mass produced shit, but if you have ever had the pleasure of strolling through markets hosted by little shops that specialize in jerky... it's fucking heaven.

Edit: I still need to try snake jerky. More importantly however I need to bust out the dehydrator.

The best beef jerky is the stuff you find that's made locally whenever you stop at a gas station, etc. Colorado and Wyoming have the best beef jerky in the world.

I love beef jerky. <3 There are health warnings re: all that salt, but since my blood pressure is like 89/50 I'm not really worried about hypertension.

Jack Links is good, I also like "Damn Good" brand.

I have had whale jerky in Japan. Not very good.

Beef jerky is awesome. I prefer biltong though, it's got better flavour. And not the shit you get from the petrol stations or liquor stores. My friend's dad used to make his own biltong (He's from South Africa) and it was fucking tasty.
