What nu-metal do you like?

The first rock music style that i've ever heard was Nu-metal. And i use to like it a lot.... and i still like some like:
Deftones - around the fur its one of my all time favorites.
Slipknot
Stone Sour
System of a down - i like it, but not that much.
Mudvayne
Drowning Pool
Linkin Park (Bite me, nice melodies)

Does TOOL fits as a Nu-metal band???... i don't care if they are nu-metal or not, i just love them, as well as a perfect circle.

Hmm... does Mastodon count as Nu-Metal? I would have surely listed them if they did, "Remission" was one of my favorite abulms last year. I always thought of them as more of Hardcore though... same thing with Hatebreed...

I'm guess I'm not '"t00tr00"

I really dislike a lot of nu-metal but there are some bands worth listening to like,

Mudvayne - awesome bass and drum work, and vocals arent bad although their guitarist sucks.
Nothingface - nothing tremendous, just good stuff.

Umm, thats about all I can think of at the moment, lol. I used to like SOAD a while ago but they have grown to annoy me.

Also, I would, in no way, categorize Tool, Mastadon, or Hatebreed as "nu-metal".

Just my .02

OK as mentioned before I'll put down Mudvayne. When I started playing guitar Mudvayne was fast and easy to play, but it had an agressive edge and it wasn't as boring as something like Paranoid or NIB. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Sabbath fan, but Mudvayne was just a little more complex than them.

I'd also like to mention Soil. That's my guilty pleasure. A couple of thier songs have a really good groove to them despite the simplicity.

Dust To Dust is one of the few I like. Although I can listen to other bands, I would probably bever buy their CDs. Although some might actually be good. I just like finding and buying different CDs, many of bands I've never heard of from the 80s, more.

I think Linkin Park has unused potential. They seem to be able to craft a good song and I like the use and feel of the sampling/programming. But they seem to be content in staying in the safe radio range of 3 minute pop/rock ditties and their guitarist is a severe underachiever, both of which drive me nuts the most about them. If they stretched out and tried to create some art instead of adhering to the same old cookie cutter concerning the genre and commercialism then I think they could be quite more then competant.

old fear factory comes close to the nu metal garbage, besides that, it all sux.

First off: if you were planning to post "it all sux", "i only listen teh tr00 shit", then jerk off.

I know a lot of people here hate nu-metal with a passion, and I partially agree with them. There is a lot of trite, boring and repetitive shit going on in the genre, where most of the bands are just jumping on the bandwagon for "ho$ and cash". But still, some bands make an effort to put out some, in my opinion, good music. These are

System of a Down
Mudvayne

and some of Slipknots stuff isn`t that bad. What about you?

I'll list:

Tool/Circle because someone refferred to them as NuMetal. Wether they are or not, I like them.

Mudvayne-likeable

SOAD-I agree they may not be NuMetal, but I like them too

On another note:

You don't have to think you're gay just because you might like metal with rapping, or whatever you call it. I must mention that before I really got to the point that I could intelligently discuss metal, or music for that matter, I really liked Korn's first two albums, and stuff like that. Although, now I don't really care for them, I think it was that their sound was fresh and new, and whenever I hear something along those lines, I can definitley appreciate it, or listen to it for that matter, just like when I first heard SOTD.

I like Mushroomhead quite a bit.
Some Deftones stuff is ok.

I wouldn't put Static-X in the Nu-Metal catagory either. But if some of you put them in there, then add them to the list. Other than that, I don't like any other Nu-Metal.

i can tolerate almost any music, so nu-metal doesnt bother me too much either.. i'm not a fan, though.. anyway i like System Of A Down a lot (but i wouldn't consider them nu-metal), i also enjoy Ill Nino.. Korn isn't too shabby either (their old material i mean).. i like Deftones' Around The ur album pretty much.. (hed) P.E. has some good songs.. and so does Staind.. and Adema.. and Lostprophets.. hmm.. that was it i guess..
