Hate towards nu-metal

Okay one thing I hate is when the "Helmet riff" gets overrused like that in Nu-Metal. Its so fucking common and dumb. It can work for sure, but it's just so ass. Coal Chamber is a big fucking flag about this.
i remember coal chamber from one of the shitty Ozzfest CD's(with a lenticular cover) i had. Them and some other shitty band called powerstone 500 or something

Powerman 5000

Yeah PM5000 sucks hard. Their singer is Rob Zombie's younger half brother.

Man thats another band thats considered Nu-Metal but actually rules. Early White Zombie, hell even the Astro Creep album all ruled hard.

I wasnt really sure if they were considered Nu-Metal or not tbh so I just went with it until corrected.

Rob had an amazing sense of crafting horror/b movie samples into music. Too bad he fucking sucks now.

i cant comment on any of the later Rob Zombie albums since i've never heard any of them. They just might be nu-metal. But man you just made me want to throw Astro Creep on :kickass:

Rob Zombie was never nu-metal. He’s always done his own kinda oddball thing. Industrial funk b movie psychedelia kinda ugly bitches dancing naked under strobe lights shit.

venomous rat regeneration gender and the electric warlock acid witch satanic orgy celebration dispenser are fuckin goofy shit that’s pretty alright in small doses.

I see people compare his solo work to Primus. Idk if that’s true at all.

i really doubt anything he did with his solo band is anywhere near as good as White Zombie

my three favorite tracks on Astro Creep ...

Do you have La Sexorcisto???

@CiG i know you're probably not a fan, but i think you might dig some stuff from La Sexorcisto.

His solo stuff is no where near as good as La Sexorcisto or Astro Creep, no way, but it is better than Soul Crusher which is basically unlistenable and Make Them Die Slowly is just alrightish.

I see a lot of industrial leaning stuff in general get classified as nu metal. Is that an established qualifier or is it because the cyber goths permeated both scenes equally?

Also horns up for Rob Zombie dig the music and his other arts.

I feel like Ministry is to blame for that. Ministry and Nine Inch Nails played big into most Industrial Nu Metal/Rock bands influences, like Orgy, Chombichrist, Mushroomhead, etc.

And lets not forget Fear Factory, who released a couple of Nu Metal albums.
