In Flames New Album being released in Q2 of 2014 thread

Steelbath Suicide -> A Predator's Portrait (TJR - Clayman. Amazing albums, the classics)

Natural Born Chaos & Figure Number Five (Good, but different and freefalling, think Reroute to Remain. NBC better than #5)

Stabbing the Drama & Sworn to a Great Divide (Rock bottom, accessible and formulaic. Still fun and decently good though, some great songs)

The Panic Broadcast -> The Ride Majestic (Rebirth and skyrocketing excellence)

I must say I don't agree.

Rebirth and skyrocketing excellence really started with The Living Infinite to me, and to them too. This double album really forced them to redefine themselves and to get everyone's input in the writing process. Furthermore, this rebirth and skyrocketing excellence are pretty much linked to David Andersson's arrival in the band.

So, here you go :

Steelbath Suicide -> A Predator's Portrait (TJR - Colony. Amazing albums.)

Natural Born Chaos (Clayman. Soilwork's most popular album amongst the oldies. Most people's favorite album.)

Figure Number Five (More classic verse/chorus structure with very catchy clean choruses. Furthermore, the video for "Rejection Role" was shot in the same time and place as the video for "Trigger" by In Flames. It's basically the same video but with reversed roles between Soilwork and In Flames. This one is definitely Soilwork's equivalent to Reroute To Remain. I have to say that I love that album, and R2R is one of my favorite In Flames albums too.)

Stabbing the Drama & Sworn to a Great Divide (Rock bottom, accessible and formulaic. Still fun and decently good though, some great songs. I would like to add that Sworn to a Great Divide is way superior, writing quality speaking, but most people hate it because it's awfully produced.)

The Panic Broadcast (There are a few really good tracks on that album, but also quite a lot of fillers. Give the same production to Sworn To A Great Divide and it gets better than The Panic Broadcast in my opinion.)

The Living Infinite and The Ride Majestic (Rebirth and skyrocketing excellence.)

So basically fuck me either way. Thanks guys!

I did get all of their hits though through MSN. I remember, I met this guy there who was a friend of my friend, and I'm being rather loose with the term friend, we were like 12 or 13, online strangers basically. So he kept sending me all these Soil and Soilwork tracks. Follow the hollow, Distortion sleep, Rejection role, etc. I was THE king when I introduced Nerve to everyone on my list.

I also got at least 10 trojans from trying to steal the infamous "Slipknot & Linkin Park & System Of A Down & Korn & Limp Bizkit - Random Fake Ass Track Name" with Kazaa. Meh, I guess there was an award for getting more viruses from music than porn.

What was the topic again? "In Flames board taken over by Soilwork" ?

To be honest, there is not much discuss with Siren Charms or In Flames.
My hopes have hit absolute rock bottom.

In Flames creating the equivalent of their The Living Infinite -- now that would be a day.

The topic is "people who dig IF discuss stuff", aka General Thread. If you are here for the dissection of Siren Charms, just read back and re-live the memories!

Just being nostalgic. Soil is an American metal band and is completely unrelated to Soilwork, I just remembered how that guy introduced me to both bands.

Then you'll have to deal with it. People can talk about whatever they want to, even if it is something that does not interest you or if you feel that you're being left behind. If you do not care about the conversation, then don't enter it, just like the rest of us.

I guess you did not want to quote me.

Ok. To everyone, sorry for being a jerk. I will try from now on to not be too much pasionate when talking about IF and music and to keep my head cold. Also I promise no more neverending arguments and long boring posts.

Maybe I should give 'Siren Charms' a second change...

So far I've only listened to some bits of it and it was too "sense purpoish / playground soundish"...

I wouldn't recommend it, but for the record it sounds nothing like the excellent Sounds of a Playground Fading.

Please, don't. It would give your opinion credit if we'd know you actually listened to what you are bashing.

But let's make a deal: listen to Everything's Gone, The Chase (a bonus track) and When The World Explodes, but nothing else. This way, you might give at least a 2/10 for one of those, but would still not listen to the whole album.

I was debating whether to include Filtered Truth, as it is by far the most exciting track on SC, but chances are high you wouldn't like it, so I switched it up with WTWE which is an abomination in my opinion, but maybe that's exactly why you might dig that!

So, I listened to some of 'Siren Charms' today... IT WAS HIDEOUS!!!

I wonder what Jesper thinks of that album... so embarrassing!

It depends which Jesper you ask. The one posing with the record, or the one bashing it, or the one apologizing for being mean. Maybe SC is so good that Jesper just couldn't wrap his mind around it for so long.

Again with this? So, acording to you, when Bjorn asked for a picture with him and the vinyl Jesper should have rejected it.

There is a picture, they are friends and it's ok. Then there is the community manager from the band sugesting that Jesper aproves the album and then there is Jesper stating his opinions about the album. And he can say whatever he wants, after all, you (and all of us) just did the same.

You are clearly biased against him. I don't know why. I don't care.

Yes, I'm with that again - I don't pose, quasi promote with anything or anyone I detest.

On another note, the new Disturbed record is pretty good. That band is quite the opposite of IF's musical journey: every album sounds more or less the same, and their newest one is like "you want Disturbed songs? Here, take these!" If someone liked them before, they will like this record too, if someone hated them, this record won't change their mind the slightest. The only song of theirs which is kinda experimenting is Fire it up which sounds god-awful. Like terrible.

The new Slayer is out as well, but haven't listened to it yet. If it's better than Christ Illusion, I'm already happy.

Anyone have the Soilwork Japanese bonus track off The Ride Majestic yet? I need me some Chainheart nostalgia.
