Having the best burger in the world right now

Just a regular burger, but it is stuffed with sharp cheddar, bacon, and garlic butter mashed potatos

I sense a heart attack coming in my future, but SO good

I can't really cook at all, which is why I love owning a deep fryer. Fatty, greasy, heart attack inducing, but oh so good.

Deep fried Crab Cakes:

Little bit of Balsamic Vinegar, and some home made tartar sauce. I've been deep frying all week so the oil makes everything look darker than it should, but the flavor is all there.

First I briefly seared some chicken breasts, seasoned with a Cajun spice blend:

Meanwhile, I worked on a golden-brown roux:

The holy trinity (celery, onion, bell pepper) along with garlic and green onions, sweating it out in the roux:

Now I have added the chicken to the mix, with chicken stock and seasonings:

Some chorizo, having been cooked in the pan I used to sear the chicken:

The end result, Chicken Chorizo Étouffée:

Served over brown rice with Cajun bread:

@ damnromunlans I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!!! Their burgers are to die for and that appetizer with the bread and cheese... yummy!<3<3 I miss living in Park Slope :[

I think Sergeant Grumbles should open his own restaurant. I want everything he posts!

My aunt came over and made one of my favorites. Fried chicken, fried vegetables and fried rice. So unhealthy but so good.

YUM! I love fried chicken, I live a 10 minute walk from a Popeye's...

I would have preferred Medium. Too much drippy blood.

Tonight I made duck with lemon. But first, some flatbread to go with it:

The bread is brushed with egg before baking.

The duck is basted with a sauce made of lemon juice. (the empty lemon halves are stuffed into the duck itself)

Here is the duck, ready to roast. It will be basted again several times as it cooks.

Now the duck is done; also seen here are vegetables that were added to the roasting pan halfway into cooking.

Having been carved, it is assembled on a plate.

Nice job. I need to make a flatbread tomorrow but no idea what I'll do for the actual dough.

Made pasta dough and a filling of crab meat, basil, ricotta cheese, and Parmesan.

Assembling

White sauce with Parmesan Reggiano, nutmeg, and a touch of cayenne (little too thick for the dish :/)

Snackies! Next time will add a touch more basil to the ravs to brighten them up and thin the sauce a bit. Otherwise, pretty tasty.

I made ravioli but once. I was following a recipe by Jamie Oliver with prosciutto in it, and it made me sick. For a long while I couldn't eat prosciutto because it would make me nauseous.

On a different note, here is a burger inspired by the Plague Bringer at Kuma's Corner:

I have no idea what to do for lunch at work.
I need something fast and healthy.

I have the same lunch every day and you can get it all done in the time it takes to boil the eggs!

-Greek yogurt (in a single serving cup)
-2 hard boiled eggs (boil them in batches, boil the water then turn off the burner and let them sit in the pan for 7 minutes)
-Salad with greens from a bag, red onion, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, a can of no-drain Starkist tuna, Mrs. Dash of some kind for flavoring, goat cheese crumbles from a tub, olive oil/balsamic vinegar/hot mustard mixed together as dressing.
