The thread where you talk about non-metal music you like.

Scott Walker's The Drift, some really fucked up stuff. Here he's singing as Elvis about his dead twin.

Anyone really interested in dubstep or drum n' bass should check out this comp. It has some nice tracks; some really bassy and almost pschy-dubby stuff.

I like HIM and listened to Venus Doom a lot in 2007 when the cd came out. Dark Light is a great album.

favorite non-metal songs(amazing song)

Any Police fans here? Love these cuts:

edit: Was going to post youtube vids of "Invisible Sun" and "Wrapped Around Your Finger" but every Police vid cannot be embedded :(

The Police are half and half for me, but it's interesting to note they're probably one of the most borrowed bands in history. I hear stuff all the time that has clearly taken a piece or two off a Police song. One of the latest being a Firewind song (My Loneliness), Apollo even Stings it up. Not that being most heard or most borrowed defines a lot of status. Just really interesting to observe how so many people want some of their sound and writing..

I need to listen to The Police some time. All of the occasional hit songs I've heard from them are good, and I've seen and heard a lot of really great things about them.

After a suggestion in the non-metal forum, I've recently gone back and revisited one of my favorite Canadian bands, The Headstones. These guys used to fucking rock. I recommend anyone who hasn't heard them to check them out.

They also do a killer version of "Tweeter and the Monkeyman."
