Actually, it's not all that bad; it just looks scary (well, it can be scary depending on the difficulty of the proof you're doing (it also depends on what kind of formal logic you're dealing with, e.g. predicate, modal, relevance, paraconsistent, etc.) I happen to love doing formal logic. It's way more intuitive than any algebra I've ever done (and more important to me considering I'm a philosophy student). The t-proofs we're doing in this class actually aren't a part of formal logic, and they're way more annoying than anything you'd ever have to do in formal logic.
