I like talking on the phone. I don't have to worry about my awful body language and fidgety nervous reactions to things. Plus, being a relatively unattractive person, it's better that people don't see me. I feel considerably more confident on the phone. I had to do cold calls for journalism assignments a lot, so I got used to it.

I've been apartment hunting lately. I've seen a few places I like, but it's so hard to know what else is out there, or what deals I might be missing. I don't really have the time to pound the pavement in the area I like looking for openings that are poorly advertised. I figure I can spend about a third of what I make on rent+utilities, so that gives me some good options, but probably still limited to studios.

Just drive around some areas that interest you and see what complexes you can find. That's what I did and found the one I'm currently in right now. Do it on a weekend or something just to scout the areas then make an appointment to look at a place later
