Back from New Hampshire/getting my stuff in Montreal. Approximately 10 hours too late to hang out with Krampus and 2 days too late to hang out with one of my oldest friends who I will now not have an opportunity to see until probably winter break. Fucking family vacations...

Uh, 600-700 dollars(including a moniter) is enough for 3 years, and then you just upgrade a few parts.

I paid about $834 on a laptop 2 years ago and it can still play any current game.

I find that somewhat hard to believe.
But ml is more or less correct, although I would say including monitor you need more like $1000 to play games at full settings.

Well I think it can, but I don't really play many games that would test it very much. Actually it possibly wouldn't even play Crysis seeing as the listed minimum gfx card is a Geforce 8800 and I have the 8600M GT.

Anyway this is the spec:

256MB gfx card? Most are like a gig now...anyhow, not bad at all but I doubt it would run most newer games.

$800 will buy you a prime gaming pc. The monitor isn't really all that important imo, a decent CRT will work just fine. But this is coming from a guy who plays on his 46" Samsung LCD tv.

The custom pc I bought for $200 has a 8600 GT and it has ran most things I've tried. Haven't tried Crysis though.
