Iconoclast: News/Info Thread

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***
Hey guys, as most of you may know updates around here and on Nuclear Blast are a little slow. I figured id start a news/information thread. So this will be a good place to come to see whats new, as well as a grand collection of the awesomeness that is to come :)

They will be going on tour soon, and with that, I/we expect some news along the way. So let this be the place for it to happen. If you post something I'll be sure to include it in the original post so we don't have to filter through everything. Let the games begin!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
SPECULATION: On saturday, february 26 on 'Nuclear Blast's' Facebook page, they posted: "BIG announcement from Nuclear Blast USA coming next week. Stay Tuned!" I'm holding my breath, probably like most of you. But I'm really hoping its an official Iconoclast release date. It would be big for them, its Symphony X's first release with them. Anyways, time will tell. I'll keep you guys updated, if and when I find out something new!

Album Title: Iconoclast

Release Date: First quarter of 2011 RUMORED TO BE April 26th 2011.

Album Artwork: Though the album artwork has not yet been revealed. The current tour has this image on their merchandise. A good indicative of where they are going!

Album Concept/Theme:
Russell Allen says; "It is basically just the idea of machines taking over everything and all this technology we put our society into pretty much being our demise. It's a story we were all familiar with, but we put our own spin on it. It's not a linear story in terms of... This is just the theme of the record, so all the songs are in that theme, but they're not connected in any sort of story way — there's no characters of any of that stuff — it's just a theme. Like [Pink Floyd's] 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', it's really just a theme of the dark side of the moon — one song deals with death, the other one deals with time... You know what I mean?! So it's the same kind of thing. I'm not comparing the two albums by any means — don't misunderstand me — but in terms of the idea of a concept, so to speak, the concept is there, but it's not a story record — not like [2002's] 'The Odyssey', where the song 'The Odyssey' is that story."

Track Listing: Currently, thanks to our german friends, we have Dehumanized (Approx 6:00) & End Of Innocence (Approx 5:10) & Heretic

Romeo's solos are boring as hellll on Paradise Lost..

The difference between PL, and say even Damnation Game, is OBVIOUS.
PL is simply uninspired. The whole album is forgettable and almost annoying.

It's because of people like you guys that bands sell out and loose touch with what made them popular to begin with. Ugg..

How about some constructive criticism?

I never said Romeo was predictable. But on Paradise Lost he is, that's for sure.
Romeo is also my favorite guitarist, but just not on Paradise Lost.

Jeeze, lets start a thread to tell MJR how he should solo in his songs, better yet, lets start a thread where the armchair guitar players can submit BETTER solos.....

/end Sarcasm

It's great to see activity & excitement over the new tunes, but I think it would be wise to not make judgements based on an audience shot video...

exactly, one can have thousands of interpretations of a song and elements in it but no one knows what thoughts are behind the song and elements and cant interpret BETTER than the band/artist

It's no wonder why there is no participation from the band, and why some of them hate the internet....
Most users probably dont consider this being "the home of SX" or anything because any of the members are not present. I seriously doubt we could make them participate by chanting their names and only saying nice things about every song they make.

Personally, I'd jump in a well if Russell Allen told me to.

Side note, Dehumanized and End of Innocence sound very different. I see what they mean by going back to some old metal. Sounds awesome!
