Narcissist
I remember it, but I'm not mocking people for their music tastes. That's like the lamest shit ever, and only shows how small those world is regarding music.Again you're rating music just by the singer lines.
First question: wouldn't you feel more comfortable listening to U2 or Beyoncé?
Second Question: tell me whats so different in Anders vocal melodies between Take This Life and any song from TJR to Clayman.
Third. This is not a question. If you take the music pulling out the vocals, you have than, of course, almost everything they do prior to R2R is better than SC. Going further, just talking about the music, SC is the worst album they've ever done.
Fourth. Of course, if everything you say you're gonna deal with like they're true facts, then I will do the same when talking to you.
Edit: talking about elitism, do you recognise this?
I hate U2 (I like Vertigo and Ordinary Love though), and Beyoncé is boring to me, though Destiny's Child had listenable stuff. Beyoncé is too much of a nice diva. I like Gaga more, she's more extreme and her music is more electronic-heavy, while Beyoncé is "just pop". Anyway, I coudln't specifically say why I like heavier songs. I'm always at a loss when people ask me what music do I like. If I say metal or rock they might assume I'm some kind of metal-head or Rolling Stones lover. I pretty much like everything in metal as long as they can keep the vocals melodic (and not annoying), and as long as they don't go overboard with the instruments. I don't find beauty in listening to bands like Meshuggah. Probably Moonshield and Stand Ablaze are the songs which are still on the "great" side, despite both of them are quite hard to sing along with if you don't have the lyrics in front of you. December Flower on the other hand is a great example of a song I'd probably call cool if Anders had called a sick day for its' recording session. Not only he does nothing positive on that song, he actually annoys me to the point I can't listen to the song.
Take This Life has a very nice melody, and the way Anders switches up his singing just gives me the chills. Not to mention with this singing style I can actually hear and feel EMOTIONS. Like holy shit, their singer is not a robot! Also, the part with "Take this life, I'm right here" clicks with everyone, immediately. Even if you could not hear the rest of the lyrics, it stimulates your brain, you picture yourself somewhere (in the rain, middle of an empty field, wherever) with feeling powerless, and giving the decision over your life in someone else's hand. The tempo of the song also keeps you on your feet, very energetic.
Now, back to December Flower. If I could only hear the instrumental part I'd say a good song - though there's a part where they screw up the vibe for me -, but Anders is just there to be like "ahassacgdsacsanvsdasvasavbsam". Sure, for the people who are in love with that genre, it must be enjoyable, but not for me. Can I say I guarantee I'm in the majority with that opinion from current IF fans? I'm gonna say it.
For the third one, you are probably right. What's your point? It's not a secret they switched into a vocal-oriented music.
Okay, I think, I think, I think, I think... I thought it's pretty clear without these that I was expressing MY opinion.
