Finnish language is very funny. It's like they took all the sounds that are fun-sounding, and made them into a language. Listening to Finnish is like hearing my toddler babble....it makes no sense, but sounds like its all sorts of fun.

This is so true haaahahahaha

anyways Travis, haven't seen you in a while, get your ass to the Children thread and post! Be prepared to sing your ass off you wrench!

Mike also approached me via PM and said he'd be able to work out reduced rates for us. Would be cool if he could elaborate on this.

Hey guys,

The only thing we charge is the $15 licensing fee, which we could give you a reduced rate on. The statutory royalty rate is $0.091 per song that is 3 minutes or less. That is something that we, nor any other company can change or reduce. Out of the calculations you have made for Holy Diver, it comes out to be $450. Limelight only sees $15 of that and the other $435 goes directly to the songwriters and publishers. The ONLY way you could get a reduced rate on royalties is if you go directly to the publishers, and its not guaranteed that they will give you it. If you believe that $450 is too much money, you can always license a smaller number to see how that sells. Very few people clear 5000 digital downloads up front. More often than not, people clear 100-200. units If you have any other questions, feel free to email me.

^ Thanks for the info man!

My question has to do with the fact that we're not charging any money for any of this ... we want to offer it free and have the option of a voluntary donation to the charity. Does that change the game in any way?
