No worries, glad I could help. Being hosted in the US will not be an issue. Are you guys selling this to raise money for charity? Or just paying respects to a legend?

well it started as "paying respect..." and then the idea came about of raising money for charity out of it. We were thinking mainly make it a free download and then anyone who downloads can donate (via paypal or whatever) to the stand up and shout foundation, or maybe sell it at maybe 5 bucks and all money goes to the foundation. Still not decided on that, but definitely want to do it for Dio's charity

I know it's a little late for suggestions but I just had a great idea... let's do the Hear N Aid song "We Are Stars". Pick one member for rhythm guitars, one for bass... keyboards, drums and so on. Have all the lead guitarists and vocalists in this tribute project track vocals and solos. It's a crazy idea but it can be done! Think about it.

Looks pretty good to me man. I would maybe specify in the 1st paragraph where you say that we're gonna offer it for free on the website that this will be a digital release only, no physical product will be made. I don't know how much (if any) of a difference that will make but that point wasn't entirely clear

Other than that, looks damn good

It is a great idea, but that will delay everything for some months.
I used to play this song live with my band VALHALLA.

So sad to inform you that I can't participate in Sneap forum Dio tribute album because I accidentally deleted the partition where I was storing all projects, samples, impulses, everything related to music production, etc.I lost over 300GB of files.Today somehow I managed to download SSD EX 3.5 again after I explained to Steven Slate what happened.A BIGGGG thanks to him!!!I wish you good luck with the project and God bless!

that's a real shame dude, I was looking forward to your cover of Gates of Babylon. And terrible news to know you lost all that, hope you get back on track soon!

I can lay down the basics for "We're Stars" if you guys want. I actually already have drums programmed for that song as I covered it years ago! Its up to you guys if you want to add it. I think it would be a great way to get everyone on 1 track!

well if you can do it really quick then go ahead, Gates of Babylon officially dropped out so this could go in. And we're supposed to have all singers participate on long live rock and roll to, but that one's going pretty slow.

So yeah I do like the idea, if you can do the rhythm parts that would be great

I will clean it all up tonight and record the rhythm guitars. I would be down for mixing it too!

Great, you're in charge of this song then, I'll add it to the first page. BTW if you can't do the bass (don't have a bass, not tight enough on bass, etc.) try to contact Severu or Plague Rider to do it for you, they both get some great sounding DIs and are good at what they do. I'd do them myself but I'm busy enough with my own band and finishing the two songs I have left to record for this tribute

FYI - I am setting up an FTP for Backstage Metal since it looks like thats how we will be releasing this. I will give out the FTP info on the Backstage Metal forum so you guys can upload your DI's instead of using rapid share / drop box.

I have made a folder for each song and sub folders inside of those for each instrument.

Should be set up in about an hour or so.

once you register on www.backstageMetal.com/forum send me a private message here on UM so I can activate your account so you can get the info and post. The info is in a hidden forum only accessible to those I approve.

"following" not "follow". Sounds pretty good to me. But why is this only about one song? or Did I miss something? we should ask for all the songs right?

Oh and what Carlos said too

Dan, in a legal format I think that I would have to submit a request for each individual song rather than one request with a list of all songs.. atleast that's how most people from my resource search have done it.. though I guess I could attempt doing one letter with an attached list of songs with writers and original recording artists listed?

Thanks Carlos, I'll change that.

-P
