The "What Are You Doing This Moment" Thread

I'd imagine having sex with a whore is like participating in porn, rather than having more intimate sex with someone you care about/charmed with the help of alcohol.

Just got home from an 8 hour band practice/songwriting session. It's so nice to finally be playing with people who are actually interested.

hate you

My band has been on hold for 6+ months because we cannot find a drummer. It's fucking pathetic!
Hell, we cant even find a rhythm guitarist. Luckily the badass singer (me) plays guitar, or we'd be worthless.

and fuck! I put up an add saying im a guitarist and I want to play metal. death, black, power, heavy.. whatever. And one person has contacted me. Some kid that I emailed back and he hasnt gotten back to me. That was over a week ago. MOTHERFUCKER!!!

Become a drummer. Then finding a band is easy as shit. It's like saying you're a girl on WoW.

Wow. 8 hour of band practice is a lot.
Yeah. We weren't actually playing most of the time. We mostly sat around figuring out the arrangements and whatnot. Usually we play for about 3-4 hours, which is reasonable.

Yeah. Guitarists are a dime a dozen. Bassists are slightly easier to find because if you can't find an actual bassist, any guitarist can fill in and just follow the root. Drummers are crazy hard to find, though, cause those kits are big, loud, and expensive, and not many people can do it.
My band still needs a vocalist. Shouldn't be too hard to find. We need a vocalist with his own equipment, though...might be harder.

I'm considering taking up the drums because it can improve my mediocre sense of rhythm, and the possibility of me "making it" musically increases a huge amount.

Anyways, watching Seinfeld. I'm starting to see what all the hype is about.

I can see a cracked article about how to make it in the music business. The things listed would be produce, and play drums. The end.

I noticed whenever I put myself behind a drum kit that I have a good sense of rhythm. Just need to cultivate it. And that's expensive.

A quality drum kit seems to be at least $2000. I see used kits on Craigslist in the $600+ range, not sure how good those are. Basically, it's a substantial initial investment. And then there's the absolutely absurd amount of noise they make...seems like you basically have to have your own house, unless you go with an electronic drum kit. And then of course it takes a long time to get good enough to play metal. I think I'll stick to guitar.

I picked up a PDP set with Paiste symbols and stands by whoever for $650 a couple years ago. Best I can tell it was probably 1500 brand new for the whole getup. I have since just replaced the stock hihats and drumheads on the snare and small toms.
