I agree, that's nonsense. For example, I have several beautiful female friends who are practicing Jews or Muslims. As a staunch atheist, there's no way I could be with someone with their belief system and I assume they feel likewise about dating an atheist. But they're still cool people that I enjoy spending time with.

A couple days ago I drank with a person that wasn't my father (two people actually) for the first time in my life. He's one of my students but he's a PhD student himself in an unrelated major so it's not like he needed to bribe me for any reason.
