The "What Are You Doing This Moment" Thread

Been a while but -

Cass and I got married as of February 2nd, 2023. No ceremony, just got an officiate to sign the documents and sent it in with the county clerk office.

Started to reclaim religious trauma and using that to find faith and healing in the one place that gave me religious trauma in the first place. Discovered an LGBT inclusive church that's pretty cool. Sadly they don't have any physical locations around my area except like 2-3 hours out.

Doing my best to incorporate reading books in my routine - currently reading New Living Translation of the Bible and will start reading Watership Down to one of my roomates.

Life has felt weird lately, but definitely a lot more ups this month than the last two months.

Congrats, I feel sorry for you!

Neh, its actually a lot better than my last experience of "marriage."

I don't think the idea has really kicked in my brain, but it felt like being on cloud nine knowing we were legally binded to marriage as a queer couple in the south. I feel like no matter how bad the world feels, knowing I have someone to call my wife and my best friend at the same time is one of those things that makes life worth living.

Nah, fuck the naysayers, if it works married life beats being single! But it does require work sometimes. I couldn't imagine living with myself most of the time but for some reason my missus can, she obviously has to work at it harder than I do.

:D hahaha~
We were talking about this for a while, and it seemed right to put it into action. With April, we never got the marriage binded legally, just the ceremony. So it wasn't so much a "marriage" on paper.
This is the real deal. Between two people who at least somewhat have their shit together.

I also made a new Facebook account to curate more towards community shit than wade through walls of memes and doom-scrolling. Have a coworker who helps run a fighting game community in Chattanooga, so I'm looking forward to finding time to get involved with that.

I've got a couple of nieces who live near you @CiG, close to your age. Already have a dozen kids between them, so pre-made family On the dole so they'll always be home where you left them. You can have them free of charge providing you keep them.

I hope I never get married. I don't need to prove my loyalty with anything legally binding. I can just show how my album rankings posted on UM barely change across decades. I also get that other people's feelings can change drastically, and while lawyers may get involved in de facto relationships, I'd much rather they at least had the option to freely walk away.

No shame in that really - that was the biggest boon to my last relationship.

Went to a pancake dinner at an Episcopal church for Mardi Gras and Shrove Tuesday today! Its awesome to go to a church thats not raising pitchforks to gay or trans people!

Gonna go back tomorrow for Ash Wednesday.

This is such a crazy new experience for me.
