You should also rate the songs since you listened to it.
Just for you boo:
Korn - Daddy (demo)
Not non-metal, but a solid pick. 7/10
UGK - One Day
Good on the theme, great lyrics, not big on the music. 6/10
Violent Femmes - Death Country Song
Whimsical and dark at the same time. Never a bad combination. 8/10
Marty Robbins - They're Hanging Me Tonight
Lyrics are great and the voice is impeccable. 9/10
Meiko Kaji - Atashi Umarete Fushiawase
No thanks. 3/10
Serge Lama - Je Suis Malade
My French is almost non-existent, but he mentioned smoking in the first line. Quite french. Instrumentation is meh. Corny. The singer is great though, and from what I can pick up in the lyrics it's more than fitting. 8/10
Abner Jay - I'm So Depressed
Speaks for itself. 10/10
Dark Sanctuary - D'Une Mère à Sa Fille
Low-energy. Can't even play Beethoven right. Sad! 2/10
Isabel Bayrakdarian and The Minasyan Duduk Quartet - Dle Yaman
Good stuff. 9/10
Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings - The Way It Will Be
It's good, but it's not exceptional. I like that they start out with unison before jumping into harmony. That's not too common. Having tenor sing above alto also sounded great. 7/10
Overall, not bad, but not awesome. How did Elliott Smith or Nick Drake not this list?
If I had participated and felt like being an ass, I totally would picked this:
