The first cd I bought was still life, song 4 (moneclipes I thnk it is) was the first song I heard. I luv it so then I heard benighted and I have been hook ever since.

'In the Mist She was Standing'. This song kicked my sorry, thrash-metal listening arse all over the place when I first heard it. I couldn't turn it off, and had to practically listen to the whole Orchid album right then and there.

They've continued to own me ever since.

Moonlapse Vertigo... the riff that plays under the first long growl is still one of my all-time favorites, that entire part just took me by storm when I first heard it ("is Satan growling at me?")

I heard some of Morningrise and thought it was good, but not great at the time. A few months later I gave Blackwater Park a shot with "The Leper Affinity" and I was INSTANTLY hooked. I listened to the song 2 times in a row and grabbed the cd the next day. End of story.

I was lucky enough to buy Orchid when it was released because of some 5 stars reviews I read.
So it wasn't a specific song that got me, but the whole album.
