Non-metal Themed Mixtape Game

The Rolling Stones - Paint it Black 8/10
This song rules. But it's about death? How? Never thought about it being about death, but I really can't be bothered about being a theme nazi right now. LOL I need to get these ratings IN.

Rev. Gary Death - Death Don't Have No Mercy 9/10
I enjoyed this a lot.
Paint It Black is about a guy mourning the death of his lover. Also, "Rev. Gary Death" would be a cool performance name.

Ahh okay. Cool I had no idea. Didn't take any points off or anything, but now i know that that's pretty cool and see the song in another way.

And yes that's an awesome name. The only pastor i'd listen to.

Mozart - Lacrimosa
9/10
It's the requiem, and it's in D minor, so you would have to be a pretty shitty composer to fuck that up. I'm not even that big of a Mozart fan, but this deserves its iconic status.

Andi Almqvist - Death
8/10
A nice melancholic melody to it.

Christian Death - Cavity - First Communion
8.5/10
The price of red death is the price of your love. I considered submitting this, but ultimately decided on something else.

Nick Cave - O'Malley's Bar
6.5/10
I'm interesting in exploring Nick Cave further, having wet my teeth on the Birthday Party already. However, I felt that that song just rambled on and on and on, and I would have liked it more at half that length.

Alice In Chains - Rain When I Die
6/10
As much as I like AiC, this is a metal song, as I've pointed out, so I must dock a few points.

Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven
4.5/10
Connor Clapton Committed Suicide Because His Father Sucks. Seriously, though, this is pretty sappy, although that chromatically descent in the chorus is a little bit good. And it invokes nostalgia for when I was in middle school orchestra and we played this song at one point.

Comus - Drip Drip
6/10
Some weird, wild stuff. Not quite my cup of tea, though.

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
8/10
Sure, it's overplayed, but I hardly ever play the radio in my car, so I haven't grown sick of it like some others might.

Man's Gin - The Death of Jimmy Sturgis
8/10
It's been likened to a shitty AiC, but I would make a more favorable comparison of that sort. It's got a nice alt folkish thing going on.

Hüsker Dü - Pink Turns to Blue
8/10
Good post-punk with some proto-black metal leanings.

Carissa's Wierd - Ignorant Piece of Shit
6.5/10
Not bad.

The Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
9/10
I'm not a Rolling Stones fan, but I'm a fan of this song. It really

Rev. Gary Davis - Death Don't Have No Mercy
8/10
I'm not much into blues, but this more somber, minor-key strain of blues that I can dig, as opposed to formulaic 12-bar blues.

Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau - Wenn dein Mütterlein
8/10
Harrowing and melancholy, a welcome

Blue Öyster Cult - Then Came the Last Days of May
7.5/10
Pretty good.

Gravenhurst - Animals
7.5/10
Ditto.

Tenhi - Tuulenkaato
8/10
Soothing and beautiful.

Mozart - Lacrimosa
3.5./10.
I don't really like classical music.

Andi Almqvist - Death
5/10.
Eh

Christian Death - Cavity - First Communion
8/10.

Nick Cave - O'Malley's Bar
8.5/10.
My dick felt long and hard.

Alice In Chains - Rain When I Die
5/10.
Metal song, but still on topic and good.

Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven
4/10.
Too slow and didn't really grab me.

Comus - Drip Drip
6/10.

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
3.5/10.
I've heard this song so many fucking times and I've never liked it.

Man's Gin - The Death of Jimmy Sturgis
9/10.
Man, their first album was something special.

Hüsker Dü - Pink Turns to Blue
9.5/10.
Hats off to whoever picked this one.

Carissa's Wierd - Ignorant Piece of Shit
3/10.
The two minutes of silence at the end of this track was the best part.

The Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
2/10. I
despise The Rolling Stones. I suppose I'll give it a couple points for being in topic.

Rev. Gary Davis - Death Don't Have No Mercy
5/10.

Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau - Wenn dein Mütterlein
4/10.
Jesus fuckin hell this is dark, still has the same issue for me as the first song.

Blue Öyster Cult - Then Came the Last Days of May
7.5/10.

Gravenhurst - Animals
6/10.

Tenhi - Tuulenkaato
9/10.
Dark and brooding and fantastic.

If they are metal then so are Soundgarden, Faith no More, Helmet and Stone Temple Pilots.

Also Rain When I Die contains no metal riffing whatsoever.

nor does RYM. i admit i was expecting that to be more controversial when it was first stated in here though.
I didn't want to make it completely obvious that I picked the song.

It's hard trying to defend your song because when you start people automatically know. lol

tbh, i'm not as picky with this. also, i doubt we'd see AiC posted in the metal mix tape, so where else to put them?
